Coffee & Cakes @ VCR Jalan Galloway, Pudu
19:15 The coffee culture in Malaysia has changed over the years. From the classic and simple kopitiam, to sophisticated themed cafe, we could really appreciate the fact that Malaysian want more than just a cup of dark coffee. We want the idea of sipping quality, aromatic coffee with delectable desserts, in a beautiful space, with a relaxing ambiance. Coffee drinking is no longer a habit in life or to wake up from drowsiness, it is about appreciating the finer things in life and spending quality time with loved ones.
Well, today, i am going to write about this new hit cafe in town, called the VCR. This black little cafe is located in the center of Kuala Lumpur--Pudu. I heard plenty of good remarks about this cafe, hence, i decided to visit VCR with my faithful food buddy on a Saturday afternoon. It was a chore, finding this coffee house, as it is located by Jalan Galloway, off Jalan Pudu. Many might miss this small left turning from Jalan Pudu, so i advise you to double check your GPS device before hunting for this cafe. Its all-grey-black building is pretty hard to missed. Once you reach Jalan Galloway, it should be easy to spot VCR cafe.
We were greeted by some friendly and lively staffs. VCR offers simple cafe items such as beverages and desserts only. There is no menu and you got to order straight at the counter before proceed to seating. Just let the staffs know your afternoon tea preference and they will recommend your 'poison' for you. For me, my poison is always Cappuccino. We ordered a cup of Cappuccino, Flat White as well as 2 of their signature cakes--The Black Velvet and The King.

Flat White--RM 10 |
The King--RM 12 |
Chocolate Banana, sandwiched by 2 layers of banana butter cake, topped by a smooth layer of peanut butter dressings. |

Despite some hits and misses, i do enjoy myself in VCR. Their desserts and coffee were both good, though the pricing might be a little bit on the higher range. It costs us a total of RM 44 for two person. I hope that VCR could work on more food variety in the future. Adding some savoury menu or extending their sweets selection would be great! That's about it for today's post, i hope you guys enjoy it! To coffee and to cakes! Cheers! xoxo.
