Hello world! I am always a firm believer of breakfast. I believe that a good breakfast will start your day strong and filled with positive vibe to fuel your entire day. Therefore, no matter how tired i am or even when i overslept, i would still insist on having at least an energy bar and malt drink as breakfast. Today, i am going to introduce a hidden breakfast spot in Petaling Jaya that serves pretty amazing breakfast--Caffeinated Cabin, Jalan Gasing.

   Caffeinated Cabin is indeed a small little rectangular cabin situated next to a hair salon, off Jalan Gasing. It was pretty tricky for me to locate this little cafe that is sitting right next to SMK La Salle. Just pay attention to a purple hair salon on your left, after you pass by La Salle. It is a corner lot, first turning on your left after the school. Parking is freely available inside the compound of the hair salon. There is no sign board for this cafe, just take note on the hair salon and the exterior.



    The cafe is small but cozy, with extremely attentive staffs and an interesting choices of food items. I like the menu here as they offer some special brunch menu, different from the usual big breakfast that you get from other mainstream cafe. I ordered an I am From Italy while Mr. J had a Smoked Salmon Bagel. For our caffeine fix, we had a cup of Cappuccino and Flat White. I also gotten a Cream Cheese Croissant from their danish corner which is so irresistable!

I am From Italy--RM 17.90 Black bun served with a thin layer of cream cheese, fresh rockets, sunny side ups, chicken bolognese, wedges and side salad.

    I am 100% pleased with this item here and it could be one of the best brunch item i had in years! I like how balance all the flavors come together. I adore how the sunny side ups were made. The white was thin and firm while the yolk was perfectly runny at the best consistency. This is what i called the perfect sunny side up! The chicken bolognese came in a generous amount with a greater explosion of herbs and spices. It would be spot-on if the black bun were to be crispier.

Smoked Salmon meets Rocket--RM 19.90 Served with self baked bagel, thin layer of cream cheese, fresh rocket, smoked salmon and wedges.

   Next up, this homemade bagel was not up to preference because it lacked the chewiness that i would love to have in a bagel. However, the rest of the component like smoked salmon, rockets and cream cheese all worked well together as a safe combination of flavors. The potato wedges were surprisingly memorable because of the crispiness and also the well equated salt and pepper ratio.

   For the caffeine wise, i am not complaining at all. The coffee art was ordinary, coffee essence was sufficient, texture was smooth and creamy. However, they are not the best or the most memorable ones in town. Nevertheless, it was good enough to wash down the palate after a hearty breakfast.

Cream Cheese Croissant--RM 6.80

    I also love this simple croissant that the cafe offered. It was crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, along with rich and sweet cream cheese filling within. It was simple but satisfying to me.

  In short, we truly enjoyed our brunch here in Caffeinated Cabin. I have to compliment them for the quirky menu which is unique and interesting compared to the boring ones we get in other cafe. Secondly, the caffeine was up to expectation. We are also very pleased with the secluded and relaxing ambiance this cafe holds.
