Soft serve Ice-Cream Sprint: Via Tokyo--Honey Creme--Softsrve
21:01 If you notice, soft serve ice-cream has becoming one of the latest trending dessert around. It is basically a type of ice-cream with softer texture, because of the introduction of air into the mixture during freezing. If you haven't try one yet, this kind of ice-cream is something close to MacDonald's sundae, but every shop's version is slightly different. My first encounter with soft serve other than McD's was Milk Cow, Mid Valley but i wasn't impressed by it at all. However, these 3 soft serve ice-cream dessert shops that i'm writing today had definitely changed my mind on soft serve.
Via Tokyo, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
I visited this shop out of a recommendation by a friend of mine, Jeff, who lives in HK. He is a huge fan of the Japanese-tea soft serve ice-cream here and everything matcha means heaven to me. Hence, when i got the opportunity to visit HK last year, i made sure i hunt it down despite having to travel a distance away. It is a small and humble corner lot located on the outskirt of the busy Time Square area. Via Tokyo as its name suggests, offers the customers a wide range of Japanese desserts, from matcha to coffee, from a simple soft serve to waffle and parfait. It is something like Nana's Green Tea we have in Malaysia. Due to time constraint, i only managed to try out the Matcha soft serve in waffle cone.
Matcha Soft Serve--HKD 32 |
Soft, smooth, rich and bitter sweet would be the best descriptive terms for this wonderful dessert. Comparing to the other matcha ice-cream i had in the past, Via Tokyo's version is way much richer, strong in its matcha flavor and creamy at the same time. This would be fantastic for all the matcha lovers out there. They also serve royal milk tea and genmaicha soft serve as well, but they were not available when i went there. If you ever visit HK, please head on to this shop early, if you want to try out these unique flavors!

Honey Creme, 313@Somerset, Singapore
The second soft serve dessert shop that i would like to recommend, is located in 313@Somerset, Orchard Road, Singapore. Similar to Milk Cow, Honey Creme is also a Korea-Taiwan soft serve brand that focused on organic milk soft serve with high quality honey. My cousin highly recommended me to try out this popular dessert chain in Singapore that people would not mind queuing for an hour just for a taste of it. When i was in town, i managed to try out their signature Comb Honey and Honey Comb soft serve.

Softsrve, Damansara Utama
Last but not least, we have our own Malaysian owned soft serve dessert shop in PJ Uptown as well. Although it has only been operating for less than a year, its popularity in Klang Valley is undeniably high. As a die hard desserts fan, i have got to try this out myself to blend in right? Located in the hub of Damansara Uptown, same row as The Good Batch, Softsrve is not easily missed, though parking can be a headache to many.Menu |

That's it! All 3 soft serve desserts shops in a row, from 3 different countries! I hope you are tempted by me to purchase a soft and creamy soft serve right now! Well, i am definitely craving for it right now. I guess my best choice would be McD's because it is near and cheap and why not? McD's sundae are great! Who agrees with me just comment down below alright? I hope you enjoyed the write up! xoxo
