#foodiehitstheroad no.2: The Lord's Cafe & Boh Tea Centre, Cameron Highlands
15:47 Hello lovely people! I reckon it's about time for my second write up about #fodiehitstheroad series! Today is gonna be my second one, talking all about my road trip to Cameron Highlands, Pahang last month. Besides going for the chilly crisp air, Cameron Highlands is also a great place for cafe hoppers. many might not know, there are a few interesting and tranquil cafe here in the land of tea and strawberries and everything greens. Hence, today yours truly is gonna introduce you to two of the cafe i went! Enjoy!
1. The Lord's Cafe, Tanah Rata
Basically, there are a few tourist spots in Cameron Highlands, mainly the Tanah Rata and Brinchang, which is further up. We stopped by Tanah Rata to get a quick drink as the weather was quite cold that day. We bumped into The Lord's Cafe, right opposite the bus terminal in Tanah Rata, in one of the shop lots on first floor. It is slightly tricky to locate because it is hidden upstairs, admist all the tourist shops.I have heard some good reviews about this cafe, promising to offer the best scones in Cameron Highlands. Do not fret when you first step into this place, because the dim lighting. The inner part of this cafe is really cozy and classic, just like the hut in the deep forest in the fairy tale. We ordered some of their signature scones and also simple food to fill up our hungry tummies.

2. Boh Tea Centre, Ringlet
Next up, we also visited Boh Tea Centre in Ringlet. It was the first stop we went, before Tanah Rata. At first, we wanted to sort of visit the tea factory but it took way too long for the tour guide to show up, so we ended up nomming on cake and tea at the cafe outside. Boh Tea Centre is probably the largest tea plantation factory up here in Cameron Highlands. It is also the largest tea factory in Malaysia. For those who is interested in the tea making process, you can always visit the factory.

Without the food, this place is already amazing itself with such a breathtaking view overlooking the tea plantation. I truly enjoyed the chilly breeze with fresh air. Just a perfect spot to unwind and relax, escaping the stressful life and hazy air in the city. The strawberry cheese cake here was richer and sweeter than the one in Lord's Cafe. The tea was equally good, warm and rich.
happy girl! |
Overall, i was more than thrilled to go back to this green haven in Malaysia after years. The last time i went was like 6 years ago. It truly never changed at all, still retaining its natural beauty and amazingly fresh air. It was such a relaxing and therapeutic trip up here. I could momentarily forget about the stressful life i had in the city. I think this is a good experience for you guys who are tensed up with work and studies. A short road trip like such could truly make wonder in your life, helping you to start anew with new energy and positive vibe! Till then, xoxo.
