Sweet Saturday @ NOSH, Bangsar

18:28

Who's up for some desserts at this hour? I've always have random cravings and one of them is some pretty petite desserts that would satisfied my interest in artsy stuff, my taste buds and will not add inches on my waist. I've got the answer for that ladies! Today, i'm gonna bring you folks to one of the most wanted desserts cafe in Bangsar--NOSH.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon when i met up with my friends from Europe trip few months ago. It was such a fantastic travel experience with these wonderful people. We were strangers, so different yet glued together so well, enjoying our time to the fullest. Therefore, after coming back from Europe, we insisted on meeting up and catching up with each other. After having brunch at Antipodean Cafe, (check out my previous post here), i suggested we continue our chatters at NOSH, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar.

NOSH has stirred up some culinary shock wave recently in Bangsar. It not just offers some typical Western cuisine, but is popular for its uniquely sculptured desserts. It is easily spotted on Jalan Telawi 3, same row as Bait and Alexis. We ordered 3 items from their 'Sweet-on Nosh' menu--Earl Grey Chocolate Gateaux, Berry Harvest and Caramalised Pumpkin Panna Cotta. Sounds nice already right?

Earl Grey Chocolate Gateaux
Varlhona chocolate and Earl Grey Tea, layered within rich fudge cake and accented with a touch of zingy passion fruit.

Caramalised Pumpkin Panna Cotta (left)
Creamy pumpkin panna cotta, with dark burnt caramel, served with buttery pecan walnut crumble and Anglaise sauce.
Berry Harvest
A combination of tart berries spiced up with Grand Marnier, rich custard cream, fragrant green tea cake as base and milky white chocolate.

We had these 3 selections of desserts for RM 41++. You can also choose 2 for RM 29++ if you couldn't stomach that much sugar like us. :) Anyway, we all love our desserts. My personal favourite has got to be the Berry Harvest. The gelatinised berry tart was not too sweet nor too sour. The berries that topped the tart was moderately sweetened. The bottom layer, which is the green tea cake was surprisingly well flavored. The matcha flavor wasn't too intense like other green tea cakes, it sort of gave the whole item a twist. Who will know that green tea actually goes well with berries?

My second favourite would be the Caramalised Pumpkin Panna Cotta. This dessert really hit the mark with diversity of textures. From the soft and flavorsome pumpkin panna cotta to the cream and toasted pecan walnut and caramel, all shouted AWESOMENESS. A very creative dessert indeed. Lastly, the Earl Grey Chocolate Gateaux was not too bad. The chocolate cake and mousse was really intense and rich, i could not really taste the Earl Grey within, which is such a shame because i love Earl Grey a lot! The passion fruit was overwhelming, suppressed all the other components in this item.

Nevertheless, i was a happy girl that day! :D
I must compliment NOSH's desserts team for designing and executing such creative, exquisite and delicious desserts. Nowadays, we can hardly find good and unique desserts. Most of the restaurants will offer the usual chocolate cake or tiramisu which can hardly satisfy me anymore. :/ Thus i was really thrilled to see some changes from my experience here with NOSH. The pricing here is considered average. It'll cost around RM 15 per person. The environment here is modern and chic, very busy though. However, NOSH does not offer free flow water, you got to order some drinks to quench your thirst after these sinful yet delicious sweets. We had a diabetic day here with NOSH and i would surely come back for more experiments on what NOSH has to offer. Looking forward for new, pleasant surprise NOSH! Have a wonderful week ahead peeps! xoxo
