   Few weeks ago, when dear Laine was back for her summer break, the girls went for cafe hopping around the city before some major shopping spree. We landed ourselves in this upstairs cafe in a rainy morning and was warmly welcomed by some good old wooden settings, with traditional local touch here and there. Orders must be made at the counter. We each had a cup of caffeine to warm the cold body. I had a cup of Cappuccino, while the girls had Caramel Macchiato and Sweet 16 a.k.a Macadamia Latte. For mains, we had a Mushroom Chicken Pie, Chicken Sandwich and Amo Waffle with ice-cream.

    Ohh well, nothing beats a warm cup of coffee goodness in a cold weather. Our coffee was made out of fine quality beans, all tasted refined and mild. Laine's 3D latte art was so adorable that one could not stop taking photos and going all 'woo' and 'aww' over it. Food wise, i personally find it ordinary. The chicken sandwich was okay, great flavors but not much surprise. Waffle was a little bit too crunchy for my liking.




   However, i must really credit Amo's for their hardwork poured into the decor and designing concept of this outlet. Every items here looked odd by itself but when put together at the right crooks and edges, they became arts instantaneously. Service was good, pricing was average. Parking will be a headache around this area, so i would recommend you to park in the opposite building where they offer basement parking. However, note that the price per hour is a little bit pricey. If you PJ peeps wanna give Coffee Amo a try but do not fancy the travelling and parking problems, they also have a new branch in TTDI, just perfect for those staying in the neighbourhood.    Hello earthlings! It's Monday again, another new week has started. I hope you guys enjoyed your weekend. Anyway, after all the hypes and fun we had, it's time to collect ourselves, and prepare to give all we can for another week full of work, studies and excitement. What else is better than to start your day fresh and energetic with good breakfast? Hence, today i'm going to write about simple sandwich breakfast we had in Pickle & Fig.

 Pickle & Fig, a simple brunch cafe in TTDI offers a wide range of hearty breakfast and Western food along with coffee and desserts. We ordered both hot and cold sandwiches: Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese and Rotkraut Pastrami as our carbohydrates mains. Drinks wise, we had a cup of Flat White and a Piccolo Latte.

Flat White--RM 8+

Piccolo Latte--RM 9+

   Their coffee was average. It has got some coffee kicks, smooth consistency but its fragrance did not wow me at all. Just another cup of non-so-memorable-coffee.

Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese--RM 19+ smoked salmon+capers+chives cream cheese+lemon tarragen mayonaise+mixed greens on focaccia bread

   I love this unique lemon mayonaise with pickles. I love how it contrasts with the rich taste of smoked salmon and works in sync with the thick cream cheese within. However, the focaccia bread was not as crunchy i would like it to be. Nevertheless, the wedges were cooked to perfection, with crunchy outside, warm inside. It is a good dish in a whole.

Rotkraut Pastrami--RM 19+ beef pastrami+rotkraut+mozarella+russian dressing+infused oil on wholemeal bread

   Personally, i prefer this dish over the previous one. It has multiple dimension of flavors and textures. Starting from the beef palami which is salty and rich, together with melted mozarella cheese that binds the sour dressing and crunchy wholemeal bread as a whole unit of satisfaction. Thumbs up for this!

   In a nutshell, the bread is better than coffee here in Pickle & Fig. Their wide and unique selection of sandwiches and breads would certainly attract my second comeback. The ambiance is clean, sleek and harmonious and service was pleasant too. Pricing is considered average, around RM 25 per person.
