Eight Ounce Coffee | Coffea Coffee

16:24

   Bello my dear earthlings! It's our favourite time of the week again, Saturday, off day, chillax day, whatever you call it. Let's take some time to relax and unwind after a full 5 days of work! Therefore, i'm here to introduce some new cafes i visited in February. They are both awesome cafe that serves great coffee and will be a perfect spot for you to sit back and relax for the weekends. So enjoy yourself as you journey with me!

1. Eight Ounce Coffee, The Gardens Mall.

Freshly baked pastries
Variety of cakes
   I went out with my travel buddies few weeks ago to have a quick catch-up over coffee. I've heard that The Gardens Mall welcomed a new tenant recently, replacing The Espresso Lab. Hence, we went to try it out. It is located opposite T.G.I Friday, right at the intersection between The Gardens Mall and Mid Valley Mall, but lean towards The Gardens. We ordered some coffee and a slice of Mandarin Orange Cheese Cake to share.

Americano on the right--RM 9++
   I recalled that it was during the Chinese New Year period when we visited this cafe. Therefore, the horse-looking coffee art and seasonal Mandarin Orange Cheese Cake. Their coffee was good. Although i'm not sure about the origin of the coffee beans, but i could truly appreciate the mild fragrance and richness of caffeine screaming within the smooth and silky latte. I must also compliment their effort of making me a special latter art. The mandarin orange cheese cake is my favourite of the day. I love the unique ingredients they picked to infuse with a rich creamy cheese cake--mandarin oranges. Unlike the normal orange cheese cake, by using mandarin orange, it gave the cheese cake a slight acidity as well as nectarine after taste. However, i would love the cheese cake to be chilled for a little bit longer because its consistency was too soft. The rest of my friends love their coffee as well, but Mr. Kim complained about the overwhelming bitterness of his Americano.

Ms Xin Lun--the pretty doctor
Hmm, i noticed yours truly gained weight since CNY, time to diet :/
   In a nutshell, Eight Ounce Coffee's dessert was pleasant and coffee was good. However, i do find it a bit overpriced. Each person costs around RM 20 for a cup of coffee and cake for sharing. Its simple setting of tables and chairs just on the corridor does not provide much privacy or comfortable space for chatting or fellowship. The service was not bad. There is still room for improvement, i'm hoping for a better dining experience in the future.

2. Coffea Coffee, Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar

   So next up, i'm gonna talk about Coffea Coffee in Telawi, Bangsar. Coffea Coffee is a Korean-Malaysian collaborators cafe. This is its first and pioneer branch in Malaysia. I was curious about its fast growth around the entire Klang Valley, so i visited this new and rising coffee chain last month to find out more about it.

 We ordered a cup of latte and cappuccino and a slice of Salted Caramel Cheese Cake to share. They are famous for their Peanut Butter Latte, but i'm not a big fan of peanuts so i did not order that. If you happened to try that drink, do let me know how it taste like alright?
Cappuccino--RM 10+
Latte--RM 10+

Salted Caramel Cheese Cake--RM 13+
   Well, to start off, the Salted Caramel Cheese Cake did not taste as great as it looks. I absolutely dislike the dry and flaky cheesecake. It was not smooth and the caramel taste was barely there. However, their coffee did saved the day. My latte tasted alright, smooth, flavorsome but sadly, not memorable.

   In conclusion, i love Coffea Coffee's ambiance and concept of interior design. The usage of recycled woods and the lighting gave us a warm and comfortable feeling. Their coffee was alright, but i'm looking for more dimension of flavor in the coffee. The staffs were freindly and the cost per person is RM 15+. Anyway, both cafe are good chillax spot for your weekend. I hope i gave you some sort of idea on where to go for coffee on weekends. I'll talk to you soon. Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo.
