Greetings readers. Finally, i've done my first paper for my last semester in IMU, 3 more to go though, after 3 weeks of study break. So, now i can reward myself a little bit before head back to study everyday 24-7. Alright, so here is a simple post about Ee Laine's 21st birthday last month. I know, this is way too overdue but hey, late is better than never right? Enjoy~
We all know Laine loves Western food, so after days of researching online, reading numerous food blog, we finally booked a place at Monte's in Bangsar Shopping Complex (BSC). Monte's has a very good review from many food bloggers and the photos i got online looked very impressive as well. After experiencing it myself, i have no regret of choosing this place for Laine's big day.
Monte's is a modern Western restaurant, situated on the 1st floor of BSC, facing Jalan Maarof and we can enjoy some pretty little lights hanging on the tree outside of BSC through its huge window in the end. The interior of Monte's is very relaxing and romantic. From the entrance, we can see that there is a few couches for those who want some drinks and chat over desserts. On the right, there is a wine bar with TV on, for those who enjoy casual talk over alcohol and football. The rest of the space is strategically occupied by a few creative compartments seperated by plants and greens. I really love this place.
Food wise, Monte's offer a variety of Western cuisine and quality red wine. I wasn't impressed with my Cajun Chicken but i've tried some from my friends and they were good. My Cajun Chicken was too blend and the sides were conventional, brocolli and potato salad. However, i like all the beef of the day as they were perfectly cooked, well seasoned and juicy as well. I couldn't comment much on the red wine because i'm no expert in this field.
After the meal, it was present time! We gave Laine a white Fujifilm's instax mini polaroid camera! I'm glad she liked it, along with all the gifts by others. A cake is a must for all birthday celebration, but a 21st birthday cake must be special and memorable. Hence, i chose to order from KL's renowned cake maker: Just Heavenly-->Death by Chocolate. The cake was so rich with chocolate ganache and mousse till i can die from diabetes. Anyway, it was a wonderful experience.
Overall, the environment is excellent, food was average and service is satisfying. Their pricing is above average: around RM 40-60 per person. For those who wish to dine here next time, i strongly recommend you to try their steak and red wine. Remember to make a booking in advance!!
