Bel après-midi @ The Pressroom, BSC

20:22

I always love dining in BSC. The variety of choices and the lush garden with relaxing music lurking everywhere in the mall just makes a person feel so chilled. Last week, when uni bud--Puo Nen was back from Singapore, i've decided to have a quick catch up with him over lunch in BSC. Since he was our guest of honour that day, we let him choose the location and he finally went with The Pressroom, which is also one of the restaurant in my 'to-eat-list'.

If you search online, The Pressroom is actually linked with La Bodega. We were handed two menus that afternoon, one from The Pressroom and another from La Bodega. Judging from the points above, i'm guessing that both of them are under the same company. Anyway, our orders of the day were all from the valuable set lunch menu. All sets costs RM 25++ and comes with side salad or fries together with soft drink/chilled fruit juice and ends with a choice of illy coffee. I had a tortilla wrap, Laine wanted the angel hair pasta while Puo Nen ordered the Pan-Fried Sole.

Notice that the lunch menu changes every week.

Looking at the menu itself, i must say i was quite impressed. When the food was served, i was glad that i didn't feel let down at all. My tortilla wrap was alright, the ingredients was very fresh and blended together perfectly. However my favourite of all has to be Creme Brulee that we ordered subsequently. As i always say, a meal is not complete without a dessert. I was absolutely satisfied with the flavour of this classic French dessert. It has a very thin crust on top, made out of caramelized sugar. The custard filling was just nice, not too sweet, with tiny little vanilla seeds within, bringing out the natural fragrance that creme brulee ought to have. Lastly, we had a cup of cappuccino (or any other coffee you like) with a butter cake to end our satisfying lunch.

Besides the good menu, excellent service and great company, i utterly enjoyed the design and ambiance of The Pressroom. When i stepped into this place, not only i was greeted by friendly staffs, but also welcomed by a huge wine bar on my right, beautiful chandelier on the ceiling, dark but romantic indoor settings and neatly trimmed grasses outside. We chose to dine at the outdoor section just to enjoy the sunny weather and beautiful garden beside the restaurant. The whole French setting really won me over. Next time, i will try out their afternoon tea! Pricing is above average, around RM 40 per person if you order a la carte.
