Boat Noodle & Petit Noms, Empire Damansara Perdana

20:11

Hello readers! Alright, today i'm going to introduce you to another newly developed food haven in Petaling Jaya. This is none other than the uprising star--Empire Damansara Perdana, near Mutiara Damansara where you get the giants like The Curve, IKEA, IKANO and more. Empire Mall here is more like SOHO suites, office suites, restaurants and cafe point. I visited this place with Mr. J a month ago where we went to try out the much hyped Boat Noodle and later on got some desserts at Petit Noms. So just sit back, and enjoy the photos!

1. Boat Noodle

The Lunch Crowd!
We went on a weekday, lunch time. Gosh, the queue was crazy! We had to take number and wait for our turn for almost 30 minutes! Luckily they serve some complimentary iced water to the customers while waiting. Anyway, Boat Noodle is a Siamese inspired cuisine where it serves bowls of noodles in small portion, like those served by locals in Thailand, while sitting on their boats. As this is a one-man-show back in Thailand, hence, the portion must be small so that the business-runner can handle with ease. Boat Noodle seizes this creative and unique serving method and successfully captured the attention of many Malaysians. We had a few bowls of chicken and beef noodles, each with dry and soup servings.

As you can tell, the portion here is very small, approximately one big mouthful? It consists of some traditional Siam noodle, with pieces of chicken or beef, along with a piece of meatball and some fresh bean-sprouts and herbs. Personally, i don't find it superbly tasty. It tasted just like a normal bowl of soy-sauce noodle that we could get from local hawker center. It wasn't bad, but not great. I guess it's just the fun of eating as many bowls as you can and stacking them out, taking a photo and share on your social media kind of hype. Anyway, it is just RM 1.90 per bowl, that's why Boat Noodle managed to captured so many customers with their creativity and super affordable price.

2. Petit Noms

After our lunch in Boat Noodle, yours truly was craving for something sweet to end the meal. Like i always say, a meal isn't complete without dessert! Therefore, we went up a floor above Boat Noodle and landed on this cute, secluded, little coffee house. The view here is just spectacular! I would spend my whole day reading here, not a problem!

For the day, both of us had a cup of regular white and a chocolate mousse cake for sharing. I was madly in love with both of the items! The chocolate mousse was thick, rich and creamy but not too sweet to my liking. The wafer crunches within gave a different texture to the creamy mousse and spongy cake. Its presentation was simple yet mesmerizing. Our white coffee was surprisingly strong and flavoursome! Its wonderfully roasted coffee beans released such a strong and intense coffee essence with the warmly steamed milk. Perfecto!

Aside from the pleasant food experience, i also love how its simple settings gave me the sense of tranquility and relaxation. Painted black and white, Petit Noms adopted some simple, modern, chic cafe ambiance. Everything spells simple and spot-on here, from the dark wooden furniture, to the wall decorations. I especially love the bird eyes view here. As it is situated on first floor, by sitting at the balcony or window, you can feast yourself with the busy LDP and Empire's wonderful architecture. Wonderful!

Sweet corner!
This isn't monochrome!

Ahh, the lovely balcony spot!
Overall, i truly enjoyed myself here in Petit Noms. Not only their food was over the benchmark, its quiet and relaxing environment would  make a perfect place for one to study, date or even chill with a cuppa of good coffee. To locate, Petit Noms is situated directly opposite and above Boat Noodle. Boat Noodle will not be hard to miss, as there is constantly a crowd queuing out there.

Before i end this write-up, i have to share with you guys how awesome Empire's architecture concept is! They uses the ancient European style build up and spiced it up with modern and bold color choices to give it a balanced contrast. Walking in Empire really brings me back to my summer vacation last year in Europe! Oh dear, how i've missed you Europe! Anyway, this is definitely a must visit hang out area in town. If you haven't been here, please head on to Damansara Perdana now. There is so much to explore and i promise, i'll bring you more updates about this food haven soon. Till then, xoxo.
