Breakfast @ Frisky Goat, TTDI
11:11
Good day dear friends! One thing i absolutely love in life, is the smell of fresh pastries and bread when they are just out from the oven. Sometimes, i would just stay in Subway or bakeries for a good 5 minutes just to get my satisfaction through sniffing the freshly baked bread smell! I know, i am weird like that. Having a piece of fresh bread as breakfast, topped with anything as simple as jams is yet another great way to kick start your wonderful morning. Hence, today, i am going to write about this bakery cafe in Taman Tun, with the name of Frisky Goat.
Frisky Goat is an eye-catching bakery cafe situated along Jalan Burhanudin Helmi, TTDI, on the way towards LDP as well as Bandar Utama. As we walked into this brightly painted little hut, we were immediately welcomed by some friendly staffs and the heavenly smell of fresh pastries. Frisky Goat bakes their own pastries and bread daily, using the finest and freshest ingredients. They also offer a wide range of Western cuisine, cakes and coffee. Since it was early that day, we decided to grab some items from their breakfast menu. I had an Egg Salmon Royale while Mr. J had an Egg en Cocotte. Seeing the tempting choices of pastries, i couldn't help but to order a Fruity Danish to complete our breakfast experience.
Egg Salmon Royale--RM 21+ Poached egg topped on slice of Belgian Waffle, with sauteed mushrooms and salmon. |
Egg en Cocotte--RM 21.50+ Baked eggs with toasts |
Fruity Danish--RM 6.50+ |
I know, some of you may ask, where is the coffee?? Well, yours truly was heading to have coffee elsewhere that day, so i decided to skipped it. Anyway, the meal for the day was average. My Egg Salmon Royale was okay. The poached egg was done right, salmon was not in its freshest condition, but both the mushroom and salmon were well seasoned. I did not like the waffle as it was too soggy. Mr. J's baked egg was mediocre as well. The fruit danish was slightly better than the rest, with its sweet pastry cream and fresh fruits. However, i find the pastry quite soft as well, would be better if it were crunchier.
In other words, Frisky Goat is an interesting bakery cafe thanks to its fresh pastries and bread. However, their breakfast items certainly need more improvement, especially in this neighbourhood that is filled with various cafe and coffee spots. The price is above average, service was excellent and parking would be difficult especially during peak hours.
