Brunch @ Nutmeg, Bangsar Village II

23:00

It’s Friday guys!! No work, no school just pure fun and relaxation for the next 2 days! As usual, yours truly will be bringing a weekly restaurant recommendation for your weekend! Enjoy!

Today’s star is The Nutmeg in Bangsar Village II. I visited this cozy place together with my uni girls few weeks ago when we went back to KL for a short getaway from studies. Nutmeg is located on the first floor of Bangsar Village II and is well known for delicious western cuisine with great dessert. A weekday lunch menu was provided but we did not order since we were hoping for second round elsewhere. Nevertheless, i think you guys should also check out the weekday lunch set which consists of an appetizer/soup, main course and cake-of-the-day. I would say it's quite worth it.

We ordered some good old Western food. My was Baked Eggs and Flat White while the rest had Salt Beef Hash, Salmon Aglio Olio, Mushroom Soup and more.

Flat White--RM 8

The coffee was good, just like any other well crafted coffee, it tasted smooth and rich with a slight earthy after-taste.

Baked Eggs--RM 18
two eggs, cheese, tomato compote, brioche
The Baked Eggs was also the conventional cheese with eggs and tomato paste. There was nothing special and the cheese was too little to highlight any flavor within. The toasted bread was barely toasted. They were just 2 pieces or boring, soggy and flat bread.

My meal of the day!
Spaghetti Salmon Aglio Olio--RM 23
Mushroom Soup (Daily Soup)--RM 15
Salt Beef Hash--RM 16
sauteed potatoes, red peppers, topped with a fried egg

Generally, their food had some hits and misses, but it was still a good meal with excellent service and comfortable surrounding. We did not get the chance to try out their dessert but i will remember to do that on my next visit. I love their menu as well, at least it brings us something different than the usual cafe and restaurant, like the Salt Beef Hash you see above. That was kind of innovative right? Pricing was average, around RM 25 per person. It was a pleasant experience with Nutmeg.

Satisfied foodies!
