Thirdwave, Nexus South Bangsar & Seven Cups, Empire Damansara Perdana
21:22
Hello lovely earthlings! It's the dreaded Monday again. Aside from the terrible Monday blues, we still got lots of work, deadlines, tests to catch up on. What better way to start your week with a cup of good coffee? Here are two cafe recommended for your daily caffeine fix! Enjoy!
1. Thirdwave, Nexus South Bangsar
First up, we have Thirdwave from Nexus South Bangsar, a brand new eateries mall in the border of Bangsar, right next to the Federal Highway. Thirdwave is run by a few passionate youngster, dedicated to serving a cup of holistic coffee, desserts and simple Western cuisine to their customers. I tried out their Flat White and also a cup of Earl Grey Tea. I also had a Black Forest Cupcake just because it looked cute.
Flat White--RM 10 |
Black Forest Cupcake--RM 6.50 |
Earl Grey Tea--RM 7.50 |
The coffee was fairly good, with the usual milky taste and pungent coffee flavor. The earl grey tea was very strong. I love how they use the little cup as the sifter, so that you can control the richness level you prefer in your drink. The cupcake was a huge disappointment. The chocolate cupcake was severely dry and the berries filling within tasted off. The whipped cream was bland and the entire item tasted expired.

2. Seven Cups, Empire Damansara Perdana
The second cafe i would want to recommend is none other than the Seven Cups, in Empire Damansara Perdana, just opposite of the famous Boat Noodle. As we walked in the Seven Cups, we were immediately welcomed by rows and rows of beautiful pale wood and also a serious amount of crowd. We quickly grab a seat and ordered a cup of Mini, Regular White and a slice of Pandan Cake with Gula Melaka fillings and coconut shavings.
Homemade Pandan Cake |
Mini White (3oz)--RM 8 |
Regular White (6oz)--RM 10 |
I love the idea that all their cakes were homemade and interesting. The one we had uses the local ingredients such as pandan, coconut and gula melaka, transforming these humble material into a stunning cake. However, i find it a little bit too sweet and too dry to my liking. Other than that, their coffee was good, but i would prefer its coffee punch to be stronger and more intense.
