Art, music and simply relaxing. 

   These are some of the words i would describe a new found hide out for arts fanatics out there who appreciate tranquility, freedom and creativity. I'm referring to none other than Lorem Ipsum, a art-focused cafe situated in the housing side of Bangsar, Jalan Bangkung.


   Mr. J and i were looking for a quiet place to have an intensive, last-minute cramping for our exams not long ago. We bumped into this humble little hideout in Bangsar, around the classy Western restaurants in Jalan Bangkung. It is located on the first floor of the one-row shop lots, on top of a dental clinic. Beware guys, they do not have any displayed signboard, so finding it will be a little hard. However, it will be rewarding once you get to Lorem Ipsum.

   Lorem Ipsum is actually a publishing language, signifying a few sentences of filler words to represent a graphic element on the material. In other words, it is arts expressed in words. Perhaps the cafe was aiming to portray itself as a potential space for arts. Undoubtedly, Lorem Ipsum's simplicity design and art-filled space is a success in shaping an optimum environment for customers to paint, draw, create, read and even meet. Every Saturday, it also opens up this space for an art jamming session. Interesting, but let's get started on the food shall we?

   Lorem Ipsum offers minimal choices of food, mainly tarts, pastries, cakes, coffee, tea and juices. We gotten ourselves Apple Crumble Cheese Tart, Salted Gula Melaka Tart, Chocolate Pastry and a cup of Cappucino.

    We were quite satisfied with all the items we had above. Nothing too special and impressive, except for the gula melaka tart which i love so much because of its mildly sweet and creamy filling. The tarts were a little bit overpriced in my opinion. Their average pricing for each tart is roughly RM 8.




   There is also an open air balcony in Lorem Ipsum, which turns out to be a great place for photography, food or even portrait. Despite its average fair in food and drinks, Lorem Ipsum managed to win us over for its incredibly pleasant and peaceful environment for work and relaxation. If you are bored of typical mainstream brunch cafe and long for some sweet escape away from the hectic city, this is the cafe to go to! With this, i hope i managed to chase away your Monday blues!
