Yellow Brick Road, Jalan Batai, Bukit Damansara

When life is hectic, we blame God for the jobs and burden we have to deal with. When life is easy, we complain to God for the flat and boring life. Well, human can never be satisfied. There were times that i was too bored of my holiday, have no idea what to do next. I totally regret it. Life is at the maximal stretch for yours truly, struggling to swim to the surface and catch a breathe. Nevertheless, today i'm going to write about one of the latest brunch cafe that hit the town like a tornado. Introducing Yellow Brick Road!

Yellow Brick Road has gained its popularity swiftly due to the prestigious name of Jason Loo, the owner of Red Bean Bag and also multiple barista champion holder. Therefore, we would expect some quality coffee and satisfying hearty brunch menu. Located along Jalan Batai, Damansara, Yellow Brick Shop cannot be easier to find as it is also the first shop you will see when turning into the neighbourhood. Although parking is plenty, but it does cost a couple of dollars.

It was a spontaneous gathering with my dear high school friends who were in KL that time. For the day, we ordered their signature Triple C Baked Eggs, Eggs Norwegian and a slice of Chocolate Guinness Cake. For beverages, i must have my favourite Cappucino, while Joven got a glass of Iced White and Sin Thoong got an Earl Grey.

Triple C Baked Eggs--RM 25+
Minced beef and beef bratwurst chili corn carne baked eggs served with toasted sundried tomato foccacia
This item here is heavenly delicious. The rich and juicy flavors from the minced beef and beef bratwurst combined wonderfully with the sweet and sour tomato sauce. With 3 runny yolks and generous amount of cheese topping, this is a dish not to be missed.
Eggs Norwegian--RM 25+
Poached eggs on potato Rosti, werved with smoked salmon, avocado slices and passion fruit hollandaise sauce
Perfectly poached eggs with unique passion fruit hollandaise sauce.
Chocolate Guinness Cake--RM 13+
Rich, dense and full of alcohol, too intense to my liking.
Cappucino--RM 11+
Smooth, fragrant and earthy but slightly under the bar
Iced White--RM 12+
Kudos to the syrup bottle for those who like their coffee served sweet
Earl Grey Tea--RM 9+
MEAL OF THE DAY
To be honest, i love the creative and vibrant breakfast menu here, but the price is too high for the market. I love the little china they use for cups and pots, but it could only hold minimal amount of liquid. Humans are never satisfied, we find flaws in everything. Sometimes, it is this spirit that will make us improve and learn to be better in the future right? We enjoyed our time in Yellow Brick Road, but prepare to burn a hole in your pocket dear friends. Weekend can be packed with hungry youngsters, so be sure to catch a spot early! Have a nice day!
