Falling in Love with Wild Sheep Chase Cafe

10:56

Recently, there has been an uprising popularity among the cafe culture in Klang Vallley. We have heard and seen so much social media's feeds and reviews about this particular cafe that dressed beautifully in simple white while serving artistic-looking souffle that looks so photogenic with the fantastic warm lighting. Therefore, as usual, Mr. J and i have to investigate about this little place called--Wild Sheep Chase to experience it ourselves.

Located off Jalan Klang Lama, inside the vicinity of Taman Desa's shop lots, Wild Sheep Chase can be easily located at a corner lot, first floor. Its spacious floor was simply decorated with white and light brown furnitures, featuring huge window, fully maximising the natural light penetration to brighten up the space. We love the warm hanging lights that illuminate each corner of the cafe. Every thing screams simplicity and Japanese here.

Wild Sheep Chase's menu is simple. They only offer a narrow range of desserts and beverages. Of course, we ought to try out their signature souffle that was baked freshly upon ordering. I was also recommended by one of their friendly waiter to try out their Earl Grey Milk Tea for something new.

To be honest, i had tried souffle for only less than 5 times in my life, probable because this is not an easy dessert to master. The egg-to-flour ratio has to be exact, sugar level has to be well-controlled, egg mixture has to be well beaten and baking time and temperature have to be well monitored so that the souffle will come out perfectly fluffy, airy and sweet.

For the souffle we had in Wild Sheep Chase, it was nothing but perfect. The souffle has a wonderful rise from the ceramic, dusted with powdered sugar. Underneath the layer was a perfectly baked crystalised crust and soft creamy center. The addition of maple syrup accentuated the dish, without being too sweet. I love the usage of vanilla bean in the custard, it managed to release maximum amount of vanilla sweetness. This souffle is sweet, girly, simple and pleasant to enjoy. However, i'm not too sure about the grapefruit sorbet because the flavor did not click with our beautiful souffle, perhaps its acidity works as a mediator to balance up the sweetness.

I especially love the earl grey milk tea that was served because it was unique, rich and creamy. It was made as a cappucino style, topped with a thick layer of creamy foam, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with some lemon zest. The addition of lemon zest brings back s tinge of freshness and acidity that managed to balance up this incredibly creamy beverage. This is totally my go-to drink if i happen to bump into this cafe again.

Mr. J tryna be cool again.
Overall, we were quite pleased with the set-up, desserts and drink from Wilde Sheep Chase. I would really look forward to the creation of more dessert choices as well as savoury menu from them. Wild Sheep Chase might be riding on a high tide of popularity now, but without improvement and variation, it will soon e forgotten and labelled as cafe that serves a single souffle. Anyway, good job in mastering the art of souffle-making. Head on to this place for photography, gathering and a lazy afternoon tea session with loved ones! Till then, xoxo.
