Hello dear readers! Before i start blogging about the food, i have a great news to share with you! I have recently started a Facebook page for my humble blog. Just make sure you like and share the page for more updates and food photos to make you hungry at night. LOL, just kidding, here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/eceslovelifecherishmoments

As you see from the title, today's post is about the ultimate burger showdown between Bert's Jr Burger, Kota Damansara and The Burger Factory, SS15, Subang. Since the burger wave is still the in-thing in town, this post is a must-read for you people that hungers for a good and unique burger in the future. I'll be comparing the products of both shop, so just sit back and enjoy!

1. Bert's Jr Burger, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

According to a trust-able source, Bert's Jr Burger actually started off in Melaka, recently spreading its influence in Klang Valley. Since i've never tried it before in Melaka, so i gave it a try a couple months ago. It is located in the ever hectic Dataran Sunway, same row as the Am Bank, directly facing The Strand cluster. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and the flow of customers was quite good. The interior was very simple but sufficient for a casual dining experience.

The menu was written on the chalk board at the counter, you can directly make your order there. I chose a 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' lamb burger for a change while my 'date' had a 'Dark Vader' beef burger. Both burger come with 2 sides and a soft drink. Just add RM 4.99 to make it a combo.
The Dark Vader--RM 16.90+ 4.99
Beef burger with coleslaw and complimentary finger food.
Baa Baa Black Sheep--RM 18.90+ 4.99Lamb burger with pineapple, ham and coleslaw

Honestly speaking, that was one of the best lamb burger i have ever tried. Usually, lamb patty tastes very 'gamey' if not treated properly. However, this lamb patty does not have that and it was well seasoned and well cooked. Love how the cheese melted on the sizzling patty. The best part is the addition of pineapple gave the entire dish a lovely sweetness. It is a perfectly balanced burger. My date's Dark Vader beef burger went a little bit overboard with the salt, but overall it is still an acceptable dish as the patty used was of high quality and the special sauce tasted amazing with the beef.

Although Bert's Jr brags about their gourmet burger but frankly speaking, i don't entirely agree with that. Indeed, the patties were of high quality, imported from overseas but i think they need to be of bigger portion and improve on its presentation and flavor to call itself a true Gourmet burger. Otherwise, the consumer will just see this as a tactic to earn more from them. Pricing for each person is around RM 20. Service was not bad and i am looking forward for more great flavors offered by Bert's Jr.

2. The Burger Factory, SS15, Subang

Alright, on my right,  introducing The Burger Factory in SS15. When you step into an area full of youngsters, packed with cars and plenty of colleges, then you would know, you are in SS 15, Subang. This area is famous for its 'chief tenant' Taylors College, INTI college etc. All the shops around is mostly young adults' cup of tea. Therefore, i am not surprised to see another burger shop here.

I visited The Burger Factory with my family last Sunday and we truly had a good time here. We had two Americano (it's the burger's name, not coffee), one Hawaiian and one Bacon Razor burger for dinner. Just add RM 6.90 to upgrade your burger to a combo set consists of burger of your choice, fries and soda.

Americano Beef Burger--RM 11.90+
Grilled beef patty with cheddar cheese, sunny side up, gherkin and fry sauce
Hawaiian Beef Burger--RM 13.90
Grilled beef patty with cheddar cheese, caramelized onion, sunny side up, pineapple, spicy tomato, salsa and Caesar dressing.
Bacon Razor Beef Burger Combo--RM 18.90+6.90
Grilled cheesy beef patty, with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, Caesar dressings.
All 3 burgers was beef and everyone was satisfied with their burgers. My Americano was wonderfully made. Perhaps i always love to have an egg in my burger, i absolutely love my beef burger. The sunny side egg has runny yolk within. Therefore when i bit in, the smooth and creamy egg yolk infused into the medium-well beef patty. Heavenly! Daddy loves his Hawaiian burger, the pineapple within gave the burger a smooth and sweet after-taste. All 3 burgers has a traditional buttery bun which works really well for me.

Overall The Burger Factory strives as a burger bar that offers Halal food, with good quality, great taste and affordable price. Each person needs to pay approximately RM 13 for a burger. Their service was excellent. I would certainly recommend this to my friends and family.

In comparison, both of the burger shops was located strategically in busy town and both produce flavorsome, top-quality patties. However, i found that The Burger Factory has more variety of burgers which is affordable, more enjoyable and has higher potential. Anyways, it is just my humble opinion. Go try them out to experience and be the judge yourself! Peace out!
