PULP by Papa Palheta, Bangsar | COSANS Coffee, SS15

It's Wednesday, it's the mid week, when we are half way struggling through the week. No matter you are studying or working, i hope you will find strength, power and wisdom to survive the week. Until then, if you need to take a break, do give yourself a 15 minutes power nap. If you are like me, who easily find comfort in food, here are 2 cafe for you to have a cuppa, take a step back and relax before we face the rest of the week together!

1. PULP, Bangsar

Well, PULP is located just beside the NSTP orange building in Bangsar. If you are coming from Jalan Maarof, take the turning at the TEAK sign board to the left, go straight until you see Jalan Riong. The PULP is located on this street.

As you can see from the photos above, The PULP fully absorbed the concept of paper making and printing factory as their name and interior design. The space it occupying now was previously a printing factory. The owners' innovation brought us an amazingly crafted space filled with antique printing machines, high quality wooden floor and a simple yet Aussie's ambiance for us to enjoy a cup of good coffee. Unlike the usual cafe, PULP only a few types of coffee from different origins for now. They emphasise on the quality and pureness of coffee, so customers can only choose from hand-brewed, machine-brewed and simple espresso. However, be delighted with the vibrant desserts offered her. We had our fair shares of sweets and were pretty impressed.

Carrot Cake--RM 12
Chocolate Mousse Cake--RM 12
Baked Cheese Cake--RM 12

Raisin Scone with butter and jam--RM 7

Hot Chocolate at the center--RM 10

My favourite would have to be the cheese cake, followed by the carrot cake. Though both are your classic dessert, but i love how simple and flawless they were. The cheese cake was baked to perfection. The light and fluffy texture, together with the richness of cream cheese wowed my mind. The carrot cake was pretty moist and flavorsome. The other two was not bad but sadly, not memorable.

The verdict was overpriced! For a small portion of dessert, it costs RM 12 per piece. Beverage choices was extremely limited, i could not find my drink to order. However, if you are a coffee fanatic, perhaps you would appreciate PULP better. I like the setting of this place, but i must admit, it took us a while to find. Parking is not a problem here. I would love to have more choices on food and beverages next time when i come back.

2. COSANS Coffee, SS15 Subang Jaya

Located in the ever busy hub of SS15, COSANS is surely a hit for coffee lovers and campus students around.

I enjoyed the cozy environment here, perfect for students rushing for assignments and casual catch up with friends. I ordered the Hot Mocha while my friend had a Hazelnut Latte. We also had a Banofee Pie for sharing.

Banofee Pie
I've heard great review about the Mocha but was slightly disappointed as i do not find it memorable or special. The coffee essence was completely overpowered by the chocoloate and tasted flat. Hazelnut Latte was a let down as well. The Banofee Pie was average, nothing too special.

The good thing with COSANS is, the amazing set up and building they designed. I love the use of red bricks, giving a strong vibe of coziness and friendliness. That's all for today's post. I hope i gave you some idea on where to head on for your mid-week coffee break! Have a fruitful week ahead! xoxo
