Simple Food: Podgy & The Banker

20:09

Another week has past by quickly. I hope you had a fruitful and amazing week as i did. As usual, i'll be writing about another cafe review. This week, it's all about Podgy & The Banker, Sri Hartamas. So just sit back and enjoy!

I immediately felt in love with the building. Podgy & The Banker is located off Jalan Sri Hartamas 8, on the corner lot. Its modern, chic and simple exterior simply draws me to it. The interior reflects the same style as well.

Very busy crowd on a Saturday morning
You have to make an order at the counter and it's all self-service, which means you also collect your drink and food over the collecting counter. I ordered a cup of cappuccino and Chicken Ham Bruschetta. The rest of my company had a Salmon Quiche, Scramble Egg on Toast, Poached Eggs on Toast with Spinach and also a slice of Butterscotch Cake to end the brunch.

Flat White--RM 10

Cappuccino--RM 10

Coffee was good. There was this nice fragrant, milk was smooth but again, i did not get the caffeine kick i wanted. Plus, my coffee art was flawed too.

Salmon Quiche--RM 12

Poached Eggs on Toast with Spinach--RM 10
Scrambled Egg on Toast--RM 9
Bruschetta, Chicken Ham & Eggs--RM 13

I acknowledge the fact that Podgy & The Banker really knows how to do their eggs, because as you can see all of the eggs were perfectly cooked, no matter what style you want. The poached eggs were done to perfection, my sunny side ups looked and tasted amazing as well. Although it is a simple dish, but this is what i love having for breakfast: simple but satisfying. However, i would love it more if the toasts were more crunchy.

Butterscotch Cake--RM 14
This is also another amazing creation, probably because yours truly is a huge fan of butterscotch. I also like the cream and the addition of almonds to this dessert. However, i find the cake a bit dry though. Otherwise, this could be a 9/10 dessert.

I'm sure just by looking at the photos made you drool right? Well, i have to admit, their food presentation is very simple but great! I love the vibrant colors of the coffee cups and saucers. All those red and orange and yellow just reminds you on how beautiful to wake up in the morning, have a good meal and praise God for every wonderful day He gave us.

Overall, i am pretty pleased with this cafe. Everything here, from the name to the building, from the decorations to the food, all screams simplicity in its best! That's what life is all about right? Simplicity. Although there is some imperfections here and there, but it is the overall cheerful ambiance that made me want to visit here again. It costs around RM 22 per person, with no taxes charged. Parking is freely available along the street and it is very easily accessible. That's all for today's update, i'll talk to you guys next week. Stay tuned and have a fun filled week!
