Tipsy Brew o'Coffee | Thursdvys

Ohh hello there readers! It's Tuesday and Wednesday is knocking already! This week, i am going to share with you 2 cafes that you can try them out for a mid-week break to relax and unwind before working your way to the fun-filled Friday and Raya break for us Malaysians! Well, a little bit of coffee and cakes would be perfect for a Wednesday afternoon. I seriously need some caffeine for myself. Oh well, just sit back and enjoy!

1. TiPsy Brew O'Coffee

First up, let's bring our focus to the latest hang out place in Klang Valley--Setia Walk Puchong. Situated deeply within the natural scene of Setia Walk, TiPsy Brew O'Coffee's cheeky play on their spelling caught our attention. We were greeted by a warm ambiance and simple design of this little coffee shop. As usual, we had a cup of cappuccino, Almond Latte and a slice of Chocolate Cheese Cake to share.

Almond Latte--RM 8.90

Cappuccino--RM 8.90
Marble Chocolate Cheese Cake--RM 9.90

I must say, i would stick to my usual milk coffee in the future. My cup of Almond Latte tasted weird, in a negative way. Perhaps it is not my thing. On the other hand, the cappuccino failed to deliver as well. I find the coffee's fragrant was minimal and not superbly pleasant on the palate. The marble chocolate cheese cake was a let down too. Firstly, its unappealing outlook and mediocre tasting made a bad combination for a slice of cheese cake. Even the adorable kitten decoration could not save this slice of dessert.

Overall, i was rather disappointed with the choices of food. Other than that, the environment and service was acceptable. Perhaps it was my choice of food that was not up to standard. I think TiPsy Brew has a great potential of becoming a renowned cafe in the ever hyped Setia Walk, considering its strategic location here.

2. Thursdvys, Taman Tun Dr Ismail

This is yet, another eye-catching name for a cafe--Thursdvys, with a 'v', in Taman Tun. Its simple design is subtle but attractive enough with the play of vibrant yellow and orange. Located just behind the Kiara Park, off Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1, Thursdvys' catchy colors and brand name will not be easily missed by the public. Few weeks ago, i met up with my partner in crime--Wan Ni when she was back in KL for her summer break. We ordered a slice of Strawberry Cheese cake, Chocolate Brownie and also a cup of ristretto and ristretto+chocolate aka Mocha for our little afternoon catch-up.

Strawberry Cheese Cake--RM 10

Chocolate Brownie --RM 10
6oz Ristretto (milk coffee)--RM 10
6 oz Ristretto+Chocolate (Mocha)--RM 11
Coffee pricing differs with size of drinks.
We were very pleased with the sweets and bitters of the day. The strawberry cheese cake was moist, creamy, rich and fresh, exactly what a quality cheese cake should be like. The chocolate brownie was good as well, but lack of creativity and chocolatey richness within. My ristretto was smooth and fragrant, the mocha was amazingly pleasant and memorable.

Say Hi to Wan Ni!
Aside from the great coffee and desserts, i adore the concept of the interior design here. The 'out-of-the-box' creation with simple wooden and steel furniture totally works for minimalist like me. Pricing was average and service was great. I will definitely pop by once a while for a cheese cake treat!

Miss you already One-Knee!
