Ippudo Japanese Restaurant, The Gardens Mall | Shin Tokyo Japanese Restaurant, Jaya 33

   Good day readers! Well recently i got some feedback from someone that some of my reviews aren't very truthful. They went to the same restaurant and ordered the same item as i did and did not find that item as appealing as i did. Again, i want to emphasise on the disclaimer. I write what i eat and describe them as honest as i feel. If you don't find them as what i described, perhaps the restaurant's execution was not standarised or we have different preference over food. Hey, peace yo! There are so many people living on this planet, not everyone share the same palate right? Therefore, please do me a favor, nobody is at fault here, try not to spread extremely negative comments around. I would appreciate your kind consideration. Thanks.

   Anyway, disclaimer aside, today i wanna share with you two new found Japanese Restaurant i visited. So sit back and enjoy the ride of colorful cuisine!

1. Ippudo Japanese Restaurant, The Gardens Mall.

   Apparently, this restaurant is famous for their ramen. They offer a wide range of ramen with different broth and ingredients. Each bowl costs around RM 30++ but the serving is huge! However, me and my foodies were not in a 'ramen' kind of mood so we skip ramen and decided to try on their rice instead. I ordered a Sake Mentai, which is rice topped with grilled minced salmon and cod fish roe with egg. We also tried out the Bakuretsu Tofu, a spicy tofu and minced pork soup with noodle.

Sakae Mentai--RM 11++

Bakuretsu Tofu--RM 18++
   The sakae mentai rice was pretty decent. It is a standard Japanese rice with flavorsome salmon and the cod fish roe certainly added more richness onto the dish. The Bakuretsu Tofu was mediocre. It tasted spicy and salty, has a medium thick consistency. Both of the items were small, just enough for a petite lady's stomach. We had to go second round after having our lunch there.

   Anyhow, their service was excellent. Their staffs were very friendly and efficient. This newly opened restaurant was very busy on a weekend. We could barely find a seat. I guess their specialty is still the ramen. I would definitely go back and give it a try.

2. Shin Tokyo Japanese Restaurant, Jaya 33

   Next, we have Shin Tokyo from Jaya 33, Petaling Jaya. I visited this place with my family for a casual Sunday lunch. We ordered 3 sets of terriyaki grilled beef bento. Yup, we are a beef loving family.
Set 1: Beef bento with salmon sashimi--RM 23.90
Set 2: terriyaki beef set--RM 17.90

Our sets also come with a single scoop of vanilla ice-cream
   My apology as i could not recall the actual name of  the items above. Although both sets are beef, but they tasted different. Personally, i prefer the first set as the beef was very tender, sweet and savory in the same time. The salmon sashimi given was incredibly thick and fresh. The second beef was tender as well, but lack in flavor. So, in this case, the more expensive the dish is, the better it will taste. LOL. I am just joking.

   Overall, Shin Tokyo offers us a pleasant dining experience. The food was good, service was excellent and the space of this restaurant is massive! I guess you can expect a big crowd on a weekend night. Pricing wise, approximately RM 25 per person. It is very simple to locate Shin Tokyo, just beside Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, inside the Jaya 33 Mall.
