Good day world! Can't believe it's approaching the end of 2014 already! Why do i feel so old out of a sudden? It was like yesterday i just had my 2014 countdown with friends and in just seconds, this year flew by so quickly. Ohh well, i hope everyone achieved their 2014's resolution, one or two is good enough. Don't worry, we still have 2015 to fix our mistakes and strive to be a better human being right? Before it ends, i would like to present to you one great Japanese restaurant so that you could head on to for your year end company dinner or even family dinner. Enjoy!
Mr. J and i went to Senjyu Japanese Restaurant in Bangsar Village II on a celebratory occasion. We ordered a Salmon Shake Zen set, but they ran out of salmon sashimi because it was quite late for dinner. Therefore, they asked us whether to substitute with butter fish, we agreed. Besides, we also had a grilled teriyaki squid and a salmon hand roll for sharing.
Fresh salmon sashimi and popping salmon roe are a great combination for sushi handroll. Hands up to sushi handroll!
Squid is a delicate seafood which will easily turns rubbery if overcooked. This dish here is perfectly cooked and flavored. I love the timing of cooking on this dish, just right! I did not get any chewiness or sogginess in this dish, which indicate that this is a truly fresh seafood, cooked at the optimum timing and temperature.
It was a huge disappointment that they ran out of salmon sashimi because it would taste better with it. Nevertheless, this butter fish was acceptable. The portion was generous and sashimi was incredible fresh. No complaint over the quality. Miso soup was a tinge saltier than average and chawan mushi was smooth and soft. I would prefer another slice of same fish but grilled with teriyaki sauce to be included in this set as well. For the price we are paying, it deserve a little more quantity right?
Senjyu strikes as a high class Japanese restaurant offering a wide range of japanese delicacies which is very fresh, delicate and delicious. Service staffs were very attentive and polite. It is worth your 10% service charge that you are paying. Senjyu is also available in other places around Klang Valley, feel free to try it out yourself! Enjoy our last few days in 2014! xoxo
